Since 1997, Poder has responded
to the educational needs of
immigrants in the primarily
Latino areas of Pilsen/Little
Village and Back of the Yards,
on Chicago’s southwest side. In
less than ten years, 4,500
students have attended our
tuition free classes. But with
20,000 new immigrants arriving
annually, the need for Poder’s
services has never been greater.
IT’S NOT AS EASY AS IT LOOKS….

Ambassador Rodriguez (left) and Mexican
Under Secretary of Public Education Dr.

ribbon. The ceremony marked the
beginning of a partnership between Poder
and the Mexican government to provide
students an official diploma from Mexico
upon completion of their studies at
Poder.
